appropriate legislation is in place to ensure a sound working environment for the
furniture industry in Western Canada.
- Administers in Western Canada the UFAC Industry Voluntary
Upholstery Furniture Flammability Program, which consists of four elements Fabric
Classification and flammability tests, construction criteria, labeling and compliance
procedures. Manufacturers must meet UFAC construction criteria in order to qualify in the
- Participates, as a member of the Canadian Council of Furniture
Manufacturers, in working with government officials in monitoring legislation covering
such areas as tariffs, safety and health.
